Story of a Girl by Sara Zarr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
So well written I had to rate it positively. Not only is the character development excellent, but I love how poetic it feels at times, when Zarr describes a memory or a certain scene. Very descriptive. Also very realistic (some mild content). This is not a fluffly little self-discovery story, but a long and hard struggle of a girl finding out who she really is. The way she got there was filled with moments of harsh social interactions, complicated relationships, and some vivid self reflection. Zarr writes it as it is.
